Porter Novelli Award Nominations

No Comments Uncategorised

The Digimites revealed recently on their blog, Clicking & Screaming, Porter Novelli has been shortlisted for a BIMA award. BIMA, or to give it its full title the British Interactive Media Association, is a trade industry that represents the interests of a diverse range of companies, from big software houses to up and coming developers. Shortly that membership will also include Porter Novelli, who will be one of the few, if not only, PR agencies to be members.

It might seem a strange one for PN to join but as we increase our digital knowledge and expertise, it makes sense to join an organisation that has experience of all forms of online activity – from game development to search optimisation, as we explore how we can best help our clients, and ourselves, make the most of this growing medium. It’s also interested in how we can help the more traditional digital companies navigate online relationships.

The worth of the organisation is also why we decided to enter one of our finest pieces of work, the HP Listen2u campaign for the online PR category.

The objective of the campaign is to raise awareness of HP in a younger demographic who tend to see the L2U_logo_fnl_web2world’s largest  technology company as being rather staid and not the purveyor of some rather funky and stylish kit, which it now is. To that end, we created a multi-touch platform which encompasses Facebook, Twitter, YouTube as well as a dedicated site on HP.com and a rather funky game that challenges you to prove that you’re a digital genius. We’re still only about two-thirds of the way into the campaign and we’ve already driven over 250,000 visitors to HP.com. You can read about the campaign in more detail over at Reputation Online.

BIMA Awards 2009 Short-List

And very delighted we are too to be short-listed, the UK based part of the tea m will be in full attendance at the award ceremony with all things crossed.

One of them, Kerry Gaffney, now has reason to cross her fingers even tighter as it was revealed today that her personal blog, Niff, Naff n Triv, has been short-listed for the Best Blog award. Kerry’s describes her blog as a ‘fairly unstructured ramble about social media, PR and anything else that takes my fancy’, and suspects that the post about how PR people would make excellent candidates for MI5 was the one that swung the nomination. Whatever the reason, it would be wonderful to make it a two for two for PN on the night and so, if you have moment, please click on the logo below and vote for Niff, Naff n Triv.
