Porter Novelli has been appointed by MOFILM, the online film competition site that helps aspiring film-makers create videos for big brands and social causes, to raise its brand awareness and promote its products and services globally.
MOFILM runs competitions for filmmakers to create video content according to advertising briefs from brands such as Pepsi, Yoplait, AT&T, Samsung, Best Buy and Chevrolet. The site is also runs short film competitions and functions as a community for aspiring filmmakers.
Porter Novelli was appointed after a competitive pitch, and began work in December 2009.
MOFILM is a brand that uses digital filmmaking to create new advertising models, so online and social media expertise were a big factor in choosing Porter Novelli.
Said Andy Baker, CEO of MOFILM: “MOFILM is at a crucial time in its history. We have already become the leader in the area of video advertising competitions for big brands, offering the biggest prizes and best opportunities and attracting hundreds of entries, but we need to attract even more submissions. Our brands are hungry for quality, creative films. This is where Porter Novelli will come in. We hope the agency will be able to persuade even more filmmakers globally to become part of this new movement.”
Caroline Fisher, the Porter Novelli director leading the account, said: “MOFILM is doing something that’s changing the landscape, not just for filmmakers, but for brands and advertising as well. We are harnessing the untapped creative power of independent filmmakers to inspire and regenerate brands. We believe that as mobile devices change and multiply, this kind of video content is going to become increasingly important to advertising.”
